This study is a comparison of Mobile Text Entry in Sinhala with the use of Helakuru and Gboard (Google keyboard). We use viber whatsapp messenger like chat applications for our day today life. So, we use sinhala words in our chat. We use different input methods,
- phonetic keyboards, to type in Singlish,
- Sinhala words in English script and the keyboard will render the word in sinhala letters. (when you type the english letters M, A, L, A, which will render mala (as in flower) in Sinhalese. Or, according to the sentence we're in, it could be Malaa (as in dead) in Sinhalese.)
- or we use sinhala keyboard where we can type in sinhala letters (wijesekara keyboard),
